Our ethos
About Lisa…
I have worked within the care sector for 16 years and have been part of the team at Weald Hall for the past 5 years. I began my journey as a Senior Carer, progressed to Head of Care, and now serve as the Manager. For me, this role is more than just a job, it’s my passion and my way of life.
I am currently studying for my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
Lisa Brown, Care Manager – Weald Hall
Family-Centered Care
Family is at the heart of everything we do at Weald Hall Care Home. We understand how important it is for families to be actively involved in their loved one’s care. We maintain an open-door policy where family and friends are welcome to visit at any time and even join residents for meals.
We stay in communication with relatives, whether that’s face-to-face, over the phone or by email, ensuring they are always up to date and involved at every step. With regular family meetings and open communication, we provide a collaborative approach to care, always putting the needs and happiness of our residents first.
Quality of Care
At Weald Hall, our dedicated team is the basis of our high-quality care. Every staff member is carefully selected and trained in clinical skills and compassionate care techniques, ensuring they deliver the best support to our residents. With qualifications ranging from degrees to NVQ levels, every team member undergoes comprehensive training, including dementia care.
Our strong staff retention allows residents to build genuine, lasting relationships with the same caring professionals. We’re committed to continuous learning and development, ensuring that our team provides a consistently high standard of care in a loving, modern environment.
Engaging Activities and Social Life
We believe every day should be full of meaningful experiences. That’s why our team works diligently to organise a wide range of activities, from baking and bingo to off-site trips for shopping or theatre visits, making sure there’s always something exciting to look forward to.
Our modern facilities include a cinema room, sensory room, library and even a pub, all keeping residents socially engaged. Inclusion is important at Weald Hall. Individuals with dementia are never separated from the other residents and are actively involved in daily life. We always listen to residents’ interests and customise activities for them, creating Magic Moments and a vibrant community that feels like home.
Facility cleanliness and safety
The well-being of our residents is always our top priority. We maintain high levels of hygiene and implement thorough safety measures throughout the home, with regular assessments to make sure everything is up to the highest standards. Every area, from the ensuite bedrooms to communal spaces like our sensory room, bakery and outdoor kitchen, is kept clean and secure.
We want residents to feel safe at all times. Our key-coded entrances provide additional security and residents can lock their own rooms for privacy. We work closely with families to create a comfortable and welcoming homely environment for everyone at Weald Hall.
